Last May, the UK celebrated another London MCM Expo, whilst in Spain you could find the new Salón de Granada.

ExCel London, the event’s location.

The event opened its door the 23rd morning, and it ended the 24th afternoon. With no doubts, the London MCM Expo is one of the biggest and more important events related to the cinema, manga, comic and cosplay.

Once in London, after the tiring trip into the Jubilee Line in the underground, we could arrive at the location of the event, Excel London, east London. After twenty minutes walk from the Underground station we finally saw the enormous sing from the distance and lots of people crowded together in front of the building. The location, in spite of being quite tedious to reach (especially, if you don’t live in London), was a wise choice because of the huge space without busy buildings and roads, so the visitors could enjoy the day in a wide surroundings.

The number of visitors was amazing and countless. The event receives an A for the assistance: good variety of fans, lots and different cosplays. Obviously, among that tons of costumers, cosplay quality was really high; to stand out we could find one of the best Jokers I’ve seen in cosplay.com, an Alien or a really good Ifrit who was stalked by lots of kids that wanted to huge him.

An amazing Ifrit with his fans.

However, there were some negative points to the event, like the price of the tickets, including the high price you had to pay if you wanted to have a picture with the Guests: a picture with Linda Hamilton costed15 pounds, and her autograph 20 pounds). For me that was quite new because we don’t use that system for the celebrities. Nevertheless, it was great to be really close to some celebrities like Hamilton (Terminator) or James Duval (Donnie Darko).

More things: very interesting videogame demos and presentations, like the trailer of the new adaptation Blood+: the Last Vampire. I would absolutely recommend this event, especially if you live in London or very close, and you can even save the ticket money because the main attraction resides outdoors: an amazingly huge cosplayers meeting.

And we found an alien!
